HOW DOES REACHs WORK?
The goal of REACHs is to help you recognize the skills you’ve developed while practicing a hobby. To do this, it presents the nine most popular hobbies among young people: Learning foreign languages, Sports, Electronics and robotics, Sewing, Photography, Learning a musical instrument, Gardening, Coding and programming, and Cooking.
Each of these hobbies develops different competencies and skills. For example, Sports develop teamwork and leadership skills, while Photography enhances attention to detail and creativity. With REACHs, you can demonstrate if you have acquired a specific competency.
Skills and competencies are recognized through a series of tests with True/False questions and multiple-choice questions. To recognize a skill, you must complete both the basic and advanced levels of a selected skill within the hobbies menu. You can choose as many hobbies as you like and recognize as many skills or competencies as you wish.
WHAT ARE THE TESTS LIKE?
Each test (both at the basic and advanced levels) consists of 10 questions. To successfully complete a level, you must correctly answer at least 7 out of the 10 questions. Each competency (teamwork, leadership, cultural awareness, etc.) is framed within a hobby (Sports, Sewing, Gardening, etc.), so in the test, you’ll find general questions about the hobby and more specific questions about that particular competency in relation to the selected hobby.
If the test is not completed because you didn’t reach the minimum of 7 correct answers, you must retake it. It’s essential to understand that these questionnaires are not exams; rather, the goal is to encourage reflection as you work through the questionnaire, helping you determine whether or not you truly possess a particular competency.
RECOGNITION AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Once you complete the basic and advanced levels by passing both quizzes with at least 7 correct answers, you will earn recognition for the chosen competency and receive a diploma. This diploma is not recognized by any official institution; it is more a form of self-recognition, acknowledging that you possess a specific skill acquired through practicing a particular hobby. Additionally, the diploma will include recommendations to help you leverage this recognition in your professional career and improve your employability.
Furthermore, you can earn a series of achievements that reward your good results. This way, you can win badges for:
- 20 correct answers
- 50 correct answers
- 100 correct answers
- 1 completed hobby
- 3 completed hobbies
- 5 completed hobbies
- 2 perfect scores (no mistakes, i.e., 10/10)
- 6 perfect scores (no mistakes, i.e., 10/10)
- 10 perfect scores (no mistakes, i.e., 10/10)
You can access diplomas and achievements in your profile. You can also download the diplomas in PDF format. In your profile, you will be able to see which skills you have already recognized and from which hobbies, as well as the ones you still need to recognize.
